The Sunrise Ford Mustangs Peewee Reps gave up a couple of league games to visiting McBride on the weekend of Jan. 7-8.

McBride controlled the flow of play Saturday, keeping the Mustangs off the scoreboard until late in the third period.

Sunrise assistant captain Reid Davidson broke the ice with assists from assistant captain Cooper Uphill and Trevor Moore.

With just over three minutes left on the clock, Cooper upped it by one, with help from Davidson and Moore. The final tally was 5-2 for McBride.

Sunday's rematch was a little more even keeled, with both teams scoring one apiece in the first period. The Mustang marker came from Uphill.

Moore opened the scoring early in the second period, but it was matched halfway through the frame by McBride, which knotted the score at 2-2.

The third period saw seesaw action with McBride lighting up the board first. Moore and Davidson each potted a goal for the Mustangs to maintain a tight game, but McBride managed to take the lead and keep it with a final score of 5-4.

The Mustangs went on to make Sunday a double header, taking the place of a no-show Williams Lake team that was scheduled to play the Donex Thrashers female Bantam Reps. That game ended in a 5-5 tie.

The Thrashers also made it a long day for themselves, playing Save-On-Foods Bantams for a 7-0 win.

In house play on the weekend, Primal Electric Shockers Atoms knocked off the Free Press Sharp Shooters 9-5, with a hat trick scored by Shockers Cameron Ardiel.

Central RV Ramblers beat Transformers Collision 7-3, and in Novice play, Central GM Sonics beat Central GM Avalanche 6-5, with a hat trick registered by Sonics Kade Livingston.

Tyler Craig of Home Hardware Midgets also racked up three goals, but it wasn't enough to keep his team from going down 8-6 to Pharmasave.

In another game, Ainsworth Timber Chix Atom/Peewee females shut out Williams Lake 3-0.
