Strong winds wrecked havoc with the final gymkhana in a four-part series hosted this season by the 100 Mile & District Outriders Club.
The event took place on Sept. 25 at the Outriders grounds in 100 Mile House, with series all-around aggregate awards presented at the end of the day.
Organizer Jen Szigety says that throughout the day they encountered trouble with poles being blown over and with dust being churned up in the riding arena.
"Our numbers were down due to the weather, but it was still a good day."
All-around winners in most divisions received a saddle and they were Amy Hume from Williams Lake (WL) in the Junior (Jr.) division; Intermediate (Int.) - Raven Gentry, Lone Butte (LB); Senior (Sr.) - Jenny Hume, WL; Jack Benny (JB) - Shari Mailhot, Big Lake.
Peewee overall winner Avery McBride from 100 Mile won a belt buckle.
Second place all-around winners were presented with a belt buckle and they were: Jr. - Brianna Billy, WL; Int. - Cassidy Mellott, LB; Sr. - Nicole Hossel, WL; JB - Tracy Gentry, LB. Peewee, Karlie-Rae Ross of 100 Mile received a horse blanket.
Third place all-around winners were given a show halter, and they were Jr. - Michael Gulbransen, WL; Int. - Callie Hume, WL; Sr. - Tammy McNally, WL; JB - Bridget Rosette, WL. Peewee all-around winner, Preston Frizzi of 100 Mile received a show halter.
