It was Christmas in July for 38 women who came out for golf with the 108 Ladies Golf Club on July 30.

Following a nine-hole round, golfers sat down at the new Hanger Restaurant at 108 Mile for a festive dinner of turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberries, broccoli and pumpkin cheesecake. Whether they’d been naughty or nice, everyone received a gift.

On the golf course, Carol Ohlund won first flight low gross, with Heather Matsuda and Cathy Waite in second and third place respectively.

Low net went to Patsy Wilkinson, followed by Janet Roux and Maureen Menzies.

The second-flight low-gross winner was Lori Henderson, with Ann Pinkney and Gloria Corno behind her.

Low net, first to third winners were Shirley Boyson, Pam Dutchak and Donna Brennan.

In the third flight, the low-gross win went to Pauline Weigelt, followed by Kathy Reid and Diane Watrich. Low net first to third were Angela Batalha, Shelley Declare and Millie Halcro.

Long putt prizes went to Judy Scarrow, Waite, Leslie Bell, Reid, Weigelt and Dutchak. Declare and Shelly Larson shared the birdie pot.

Ladies Club plays each Tuesday at the 108 Golf Resort and golfers of all abilities are welcome to join. For more information, contact Corno at 250-791-0016.

The next major event for the group is the club championship slated for Aug. 24-25.
