Arrows were let loose at different 3D animal targets at the Bighorn Outdoor 3D Archery Shoot at the 99 Mile Snowmobile Club Site on June 4-5.
The shoot had seven different event categories, including open, unlimited, bowhunter, barebow, recurve, longbow and primitive.
Archers from all over British Columbia competed in the event. There were 20 stationary targets for competitors to shoot at, including buffalo, raccoon, alligator and more.
There were also some casual events - long shot and bow birds.
Event organizer denise swift says she was happy for the level of skill that came out to the event.
“The [targets] were well placed in the forest with some more challenging than others. It was a grand day.”
Those who took first place were awarded Bighorn Archery Club mugs, second-place competitors were awarded with drinking glasses, while third-place archers took home pocket knives. All the children participants received medals.
