Well, the end of the Extreme Huntress competition is here!
Yesterday (Jan. 4) my fiancé and I flew to Texas to meet up with the other finalists at the Dallas Safari Club Convention for the announcement of the winner of this years Extreme Huntress.
Tomorrow (Jan. 6), the winner will be announced!
I never thought I’d ever have the opportunity to go to this amazing gathering let alone be a part of it. I’m very excited!
The last few episodes have aired and the announcement will be aired once we find out who won.
In the most recent episodes since my last post in the 100 Mile House Free Press, I won the biathlon, which included running through snake-filled swamps with an AK47 and shooting at targets throughout the course in the sweltering heat.
I managed to win this challenge by almost two minutes faster than the rest of my competition, including a personal trainer.
I also ate sheep poop!
Each Huntress had the opportunity to get an extra 10 points for eating a piece of poop found on the ground while hunting. Well, we all want to win, so none of us hesitated to eat it – very minty!
Here’s how the final scores work:
Thirty per cent of our final score is the total of our skills competition results, which I won.
Fifty per cent is the judges’ scores on their overall judgment on how they felt we did and how well we will represent Extreme Huntress.
Twenty per cent are the votes from the viewers.
