Wranglers knock off Kamloops Storm 6-4

100 Mile House wins back-to-back games against division leaders

The 100 Mile House Wranglers travelled to Kamloops on Nov. 1 and knocked off the Storm 6-4 to even their Kootenay International Junior Hockey League head-to-head regular season match-ups at two games apiece.

The Storm, Doug Birks Division leaders, won the first two tilts and the Wranglers have won their last two Junior B match-ups.

Although Kamloops outshot 100 Mile House 51-37, the Wranglers never trailed on the scoreboard. Nathan Warren recorded the victory between the pipes for our local lads.

The Wranglers also took advantage of their power play opportunities, scoring on four of eight, compared to the Storm notching two markers on the four times the Wranglers had someone in the sin bin.

The Wranglers are home today (Nov. 2) for back-to-back games against division rivals Sicamous Eagles, which currently sits in fourth in the standings with 16 points – two back from the third-place Wranglers.

Both teams are on two-game win streaks.

The puck drops at the South Cariboo Rec. Centre at 7 p.m. tonight and at noon on Sunday (Nov. 3).
