Wranglers drop a 2-0 decision in Revelstoke
100 Mile House boys played well but they couldn’t buy a goal
The 100 Mile House Wranglers skated hard and play well against the Revelstoke Grizzlies at the Revelstoke Forum last night (Oct. 4), but had to settle for a 2-0 loss.
They solved the slow starts they got off to in their last three home games by outshooting the Grizzlies 17-10 in the first period, which ended scoreless.
The second stanza was a little more heated with the two squads sharing 34 minutes in penalties and firing a combined 30 shots.
Wranglers coach/manager Doug Rogers says both goalies played extremely well.
“We had many chances to score but were unable to beat their goalie.”
All the scoring came in the third frame when the Grizzlies scored on a 5-on-3 power play midway through the period and then got an empty-net marker with 25 seconds left on the clock.
The Wranglers also had a 5-on-3 power play at the start of the third, but couldn’t tuck the puck in the Grizzlies’ net.
“The difference was that we could not score on our 5-on-3 power play and they did.
“The team had a very good effort, but we could not buy a goal.”
The Wranglers lost 5-2 to the Creston Valley Thunder Cats at home on Oct. 5.
