Waterpark project needs our help now

Vote for 100 Mile's future waterpark before Oct. 28

By Lawrence Loiseau

100 Mile House residents have an opportunity to finally get the go-ahead for constructing a new water park.

Jamie Hughes, 100 Mile House Waterpark Society spokesperson, says the community has the opportunity to reach the necessary goal of $175,000 with the help of The Aviva Community Fund website.

It's a very simple way for the community to rally together to get these funds. You just need to vote online” at www.avivacommunityfund.org.

Once there, you register one time and enter the maximum total of 18 votes. Voters have until Oct. 28.

This year's competition is simpler compared to last year's, where voting was restricted to once a day.

The big obstacles to the six-year project have been overcome: the committee has the land, the water lift and the agreement of the District to operate the park.

The society has $90,000 saved up. The Aviva competition award is $50,000-$100,000.

The 100 Mile House Waterpark is within striking distance.
