School registration open today

Kindergarten, other new students will need to sign up

Registration for new students in School District #27 is happening today (Sept. 2).

All new elementary students, whether for kindergarten or other grades (at a new school), may register today (Sept. 2) , 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at most local elementary schools. (Smaller schools may be open for registrations different hours on one of these days only, so call ahead if you are unsure.)

A birth certificate (or other proof of age) and Care Card is required for student registration.

Information and contact numbers for the schools is online at www.sd27.bc.ca.

Students must register at the school in their catchment area, so check the website if you are unsure of which your child's residence falls within.

French Immersion is offered at 100 Mile House Elementary School, so to register children in that program, parents must complete a Schools of Choice application for any students not living within its catchment area.

StrongStart programs for preschoolers are registered on the first day of attendance for newcomers, so bring a Care Card and birth certificate unless your child is already registered.

Schools will reopen on Sept.7, for a half-day (morning session), across SD27. Buses will be running earlier in returning the children home.
