On March 29, at approximately 11:45 p.m., Williams Lake RCMP were called to Cariboo Memorial Hospital after a 29 year old male resident had attended seeking treatment for a stab wound to his upper torso.
After conducting an initial investigation, members located a 19 year old male suspect at a residence in Williams Lake and arrested the male without incident.
Preliminary investigation conducted so far has indicated that this incident occurred earlier int he evening in the Lac La Hache area on Highway 97. At this time the victim of the incident is in hospital and is conscious.
The injuries received as a result of the incident are serious in nature. 100 Mile House RCMP, Williams Lake RCMP, and RCMP North District Regional General Invesitgation Section are currently investigating the matter.
Both males were known to each other and this was not a random incident. The male remains in custody at this time and charges are expected in this matter. At this time the investigaion is still in its early stages.
