To the editor:
As a longtime resident of Canim Lake, I would like to point out a concern that is shared by many of the residents and businesses of the area.
Our area encompasses not only Canim Lake, but Hawkins Lake, Ruth Lake, Mahood Falls, Buffalo Creek and parts of Forest Grove.
We are in dire need of a cell-service provider.
This would aid in getting assistance in emergencies, such as a vehicle problem or road problems in remote areas.
It would help the many tourist accommodations attracting guests who need cell service for their daily business.
We have many residences that do not have a land line and who rely on their cell phones.
We have frequent power disruptions due to fallen trees that make a landline unreliable.
