Our family is saddened to announce the sudden passing of William Rickett (Willie) due to a massive heart attack.
William leaves behind his loving wife, Sharon; sister, Amy; sons, Dale (Tracy) and Jimmy; daughter, Terry (Bruce); six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lynne, as well as his Mother, three sisters and one brother.
Willie was born behind the Bluenose Mountain near Lumby, B.C. where he grew up, met and married Sharon, his wife of 65 years. They moved to Meadow Lake sawmill camp in 1956 and eventually into Clinton in 1962.
Willie was a man of many talents. He owned and operated his own portable sawmill until Ainsworth's bought out Clinton Sawmills. He was a welder-fabricator, heavy-duty mechanic, and a faller. Later, he worked until retirement for Interior Roads in Clinton.
In 2006, Willie and Sharon moved to their property at Horse Lake. Willie was a fabulous cook, as many friends and family members will agree! He crafted beautiful woodwork projects like kitchen cabinets and furniture.
Above all, his family was everything to him; he was always there for them. He had so many fun times with his kids and his grandkids including camping at Green Lake every summer for over fifty-five years (except the fire-year of 2017).
We are certain that his family members and many friends will remember his great sense of humor and his kind ways. Willie will be sadly missed and never forgotten. He will remain within the hearts of those that loved him.
A celebration of Life will take place near the end of the summer.
