July 27, 1927 – Aug. 30, 2016

We are sad to announce the passing of our father William (Bill) Molnar on Aug. 30, 2016.

He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years Louise (nee Zelenka) 2009, and his son William (Billy) in 2010.

He is survived by daughter Linda (Dawn) and son Larry, three granddaughters Monica, Crystal and Amber, nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in Hungary he came to Canada as a young child. Bill grew up in Alberta, married, and later moved to Kelowna to farm. In 1954 he moved to the Cariboo and made his home in Forest Grove. He worked in the logging industry and later worked at Hendrix Lake at the mine where he retired.

He was instrumental in the founding of minor hockey in the 100 Mile district and belonged to the Forest Grove Rod and Gun Club.

He also was an instructor for the Hunter Trainer program.

But it was his story telling, playing games and fishing trips that were a rite of passage for all.

Independent to the end he was a true pioneer who touched so many in his long life.

He will be loved and remembered forever in our hearts.
