In Loving Memory ~

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Walter Olsoff on December 31, 2023, in the 100 Mile District General Hospital at the age of 88 surrounded by his family.

A loving husband, father, and grandfather. Walter will be greatly missed by his wife Patricia of 63 years, his two children Jordy and Leaya, and four grandchildren Jordan, Natasha, Nicolas, and Sofeya.

Born in Brandon, MB, February 1, 1935, Walter was the eldest of three boys. He was a man of many talents. He was a musician playing all the string instruments, with a real passion on the 5 pedal steel guitar playing in bands with sold out shows.

His true calling was in the field of electronics where he later found his life's career in Cable Vision. He established Copper Valley Cable Vision in Ashcroft, BC being the first to provide cable and internet to Savona, Cache Creek, Ashcroft, and Clinton. He proudly ran this company for 20 years.

Walter spent his retirement years in both Green Lake and finally in 100 Mile. He enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting, fishing, quadding, and snowmobiling.

Walter's family would like to extend a special thank-you to all the staff that cared for Walter at the 100 Mile District General Hospital.

MISS ME BUT LET ME GO

When I come to the end of the road,

And the sun has set for me,

I want no rites in a gloom filled room;

Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little but not too long,

And not with your head bowed low,

Remember the love that once we shared,

Miss me-but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take,

And each must go alone.

It's all part of the Master's plan

A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick at heart,

Go to the friends we know.

And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds,

Miss me-but let me go.
