Ryan was born in 100 Mile Hospital, grew up at Horse Lake, and graduated from Peter Skene Ogden as valedictorian. He attended Cariboo College in Kamloops for 2 years and then Simon Fraser where he completed his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. He was employed by the Surrey Fire Department for 15 years, and was a mortgage broker on his days off. He made his home in Boundary Bay. He was an avid waterskier, kiteboarder, golfer, hockey player, and mountain biker. He was killed suddenly on Nov. 20 in a motor vehicle accident.

He will be sadly missed by his wife Tiffinie, son Cole, daughter Mataya, brother Jason (Jody), nephews Cody and Logan, mother Joyce and father Rod (Kathy).

A celebration of his amazing life was held for Ryan on Nov. 26 in Delta for family and friends.
