April 26, 2020
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Oliver Seterengen on April 26, 2020, husband of Arlynn, father to Mark & Kelly, brother to seven siblings, and uncle and cousin to many in BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Yukon.
At 16 years of age, Oliver left the Saskatchewan Prairie with his Uncle and headed off to B.C. He took with him, a small bag of belongings, a big smile, and his guitar. He never left BC and worked in different areas of BC until he came to 100 Mile House. There he met the love of his life, Arlynn Elgie. They got married and remained in 100 Mile House, working and raising their family. Oliver was predeceased by his parents and three siblings. Oliver also went through the sorrow of having three of his five children predecease him. His only daughter Carrie passed at 10 years of age, Bruce then passed in his early 20s, and at Christmas 2018, Oliver and Arlynn had to say goodbye to Wayne. Their two remaining sons Mark & Kelly reside in 100 Mile House.
Oliver had a heart of gold, and a Hank Williams voice, and along with his guitar he never tired of entertaining his family and friends. He will be missed by family, friends, and acquaintances. His spirit has now soared to sing with other loved ones.
Because of Covid-19 restrictions, the family will be having a private service for Oliver. Remembrances can be offered at Cariboo-Chilcotin Funeral Service.
