With heavy hearts, the family of Michael James Peake announce his passing after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. Mike loved his family and leave behind wife Jean; son Dan Peake; daughter Heather Van Osch; grandchildren Amanda Peake (Torrie), Michael Van Osch, Renee Van Osch and great grandson Tristan Barclay.
He had a loving bond with his sister, Sylvia Krueger (Nick) and his nieces and nephews.
Born in Vancouver, B.C. to Harry and Juanita Peake, Mike worked as a sheet metal journeyman in his younger years. In 1976 he moved his family from Surrey to Canim Lake to become owner operator of Eagle Creek Resort. He was also employed by the Ministry of Transportation (I00
Mile House) as a surveyor for 26 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 23rd, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Forest Grove Community Centre.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the South Cariboo Health Foundation in his memory.
