Melodee Van Dorpel, aged 69, of 100 Mile House, British Columbia, passed away peacefully on October 26th, 2023, in the 100 Mile House General Hospital.
Melodee, born February 11, 1954, in New Westminster, lived a rambunctious life as the 5th eldest of 10 siblings. They lived in Surrey, British Columbia; later, this would be where Melodee would meet Peter, whom she was married to for 53 years. In 1991. Peter and Melodee moved to 100 Mile House, where most of their children and grandchildren would grow up.
Melodee is survived by her husband Peter and four children: Peter Jr. (Bernice), Jennifer (Matt), Leanne (Damon), and Amanda (Shawn). 15 grandchildren: Diana, Brandon, Chelsea, Alex, Victoria (Shawn), Samantha (Alan), Collin (Jessica) Johanna, Justin (Deanna) Jacob, Ethan, Devan, Nicholas, Kayden, and Logan; and 13 great grandchildren: Riley, Kylie, Jordan, Cason, Owen, Jeremy, Sophia, Carter, Santiago, Kaleb, Reid, and Blaire.
Melodee is also survived by four siblings: Jayne, April, Sandra, and Kelly.
She will be remembered for all the love she shared with her friends and family. She truly loved each of them, and if you knew her, you knew it. She would light up every room with her smile and humour. When her time came, she carried herself with dignity, strength, and love for those who went before her.
She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
