In loving memory ~
Margaret Anne Catherine Macdonald (Glosli) (Kite) returned to her heavenly home on May 10th, 2022—a little less than three weeks before her 93rd birthday. Many family members and dear friends gathered in 100 Mile House, British Columbia to say their farewells before Cathy passed due to complications of pneumonia. She had family by her side, including her loving husband John Kite, and transitioned peacefully.
Cathy was born to the late John Macdonald and Helen Rosamond Armstrong (Macdonald) on May 27th, 1929 in Yorkton, Saskatchewan. She was predeceased by her husband Leif Glosli, grandson Baden Glosli, brother Donald Macdonald, son-in-law Glen Miller, and sister Joanna Macdonald (Illerbrun).
A great lover of large family trees, Cathy had the joy of bringing four children into this world: Dora, Jim, Peter, and Magna. She later welcomed the addition of two daughters-in-law, and three sons-in-law: Glen, Kim, Debbi, Ray, and Jay. The branches of the family tree flourished further when grandchildren Kimberly (Neil), Robert (Naomi), Jennifer (Heinrich), Brett (Elyshia), Erikka (Sean), Leif, Heath, Cort, Baden, Catriona, and Lenora joined the throng. And she was thrilled to live a full enough life to celebrate the further additions of great-grandchildren: Tom, Emma, Becca, Ryan, Claira, Grace, Maëlle, Bailey, Finlay, Elliot, Stella, James, Sullivan, Delilah, and Terra.
Cathy will be remembered as both a finder of souls and a feeder of them. Her decades of volunteer service as a family history consultant touched the lives of countless people, and no guest ever left her home hungry if she had anything to say about it. And she usually had a great deal to say! We will also remember the sight of her ever-present camera, and how she loved to share photos and stories of her dear ones with anyone able to look or listen.
She gave so much to so many, and we will never be done being grateful to her for it.
A memorial service will be held on May 22nd, 3:00pm PST at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 7021 93 Mile Loop Road, 100 Mile House, B.C.. Light refreshments will be served afterwards. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Ukrainian Refugee Fund.
Those wishing to attend in person or obtain a Zoom link for the event are asked to contact Cathy's granddaughter, Kimberly: kimberly.vanderhorst@gmail.com
