Lily May Gable

October 5, 2003

Dec. 7, 1917 - Oct. 5, 2003

With a song in her heart, Lily passed away quietly on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2003. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Raymond “Bing” England and wife Carol, daughter Jacqueline Gable, grandson Raymond (Marlene), grand-daughter Carmen (Steve), great grandchildren James, Kayla, Kristen, Tanner and Trevor. Also cherishing her memory are the Ludke families in Moose Jaw and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by husbands Ray England and Frank Gable, parents Ernest and Lena Blumsen and brothers Sam and Ernie. Lily was born Dec. 7, 1917 in Crestwynd near Moose Jaw, Sask., where she spent her first 25 years before moving to the Greater Vancouver area for 48 years, then to Logan Lake for 10 years, finally coming to 100 Mile House. She was a member of the Order of Royal Purple Lodge #236, White Rock and enjoyed doing crafts, oil painting and playing the organ. Lily requested cremation, no service, with her ashes to be sent to the Blumsen family plot in Cloverdale. We can remember her in the beauty of nature that she painted and the old familiar songs that she loved to sing. In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to the Alzheimers Society or charity of choice.
