February 25, 1938 - November 13, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother, Laverne McLean.
Mom left us peacefully on November 13, 2021. She was able to stay in her home and on the property that she cherished so much until her final days.
Mom had many life-long friends that she valued and always enjoyed a quick chat over the phone or a pot of coffee. She was involved in many service clubs over the years, most recently the LLH OAPO. She enjoyed various activities throughout her many years of living in 100 Mile, i.e. donating her time to various events, quilting, square dancing, sewing, horseback riding, cooking and baking, just to name a few. Mom shared her love of figure skating with her daughters, as well as her affection for horses; many years she spent in both arenas. She also loved dogs and cats, especially her most recent dog Buddy, who was her companion in the last few years. Mom was very close to her family and loved having everyone at her home for birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas.
Mom is survived by her four daughters Laura (Randy); Kathy, Karen (Joe); and Heather. Grandchildren Nicole (Oliver); Natasha, Jenna, Kristin (Kevin); Brodi-Jo (Hugh); and Brandon. Great-grandchildren Harmony, Lynden, Keira, Alexis, Kianna, Kalia and River. Sisters Elaine (Lyle); and Marlene; Aunt Dorothy and many nieces and nephews. Mom is predeceased by her loving husband Lyle, parents Melvin and Bernice Bloomquist and sister Doreen Popadinac.
The family would like to express their thanks to the nurses at Vernon Jubilee Hospital for their attentive, compassionate and quiet care during Mom's last hours.
Please join the family in a celebration of life on Saturday, July 16 @ 2:00 pm Lac La Hache OAP Hall.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the South Cariboo Health Foundation.
We will cherish our memories and love you forever Mom...
Thank you for always being there for us! Your beloved daughters and their families.
