In Loving Memory ~
Kim Ingelise March unexpectedly died at 85 years of age on December 21, 2021.
Born in Denmark she came to Canada as a teen with her family, first to Alberta and later her forever home BC, in the Kootenays and the Cariboo. Kim will be remembered as a Mom, Stepmom, Grandma, Sister, Daughter, Wife, Aunt, Friend and Lover of Animals and Birds.
In her healthier years she loved dancing, singing, travelling, the Toronto Blue Jays, BC Lions, collecting mini liquor bottles, knitting, fishing, cribbage, golfing, Bacardi, smoking, dark chocolate, hitting the slots, crosswords, puzzles, and hitting the road. She found driving, while listening to her country tunes, very relaxing, and for a time drove a charter bus, enjoying it immensely.
She was a 'people' person - very social and happiest if she was out and about. In her last few years, with her health failing, she took a lot of joy and comfort having her cats at her side, Bleu, Taffy, Sophie and Boots.
She depended on the kindness of her neighbours and the local merchants in 100 and 108 Mile. They shouldered much of our Mom's needs, and we will forever be grateful. They say it takes a village to raise a child, it took a village to care for our mom. Thank you - to her friends there, and in particular Karen & Wayne, Ellen, Ev, the Argents, Ingrid, her foot care nurse, and Mary's Kitchen.
As per her wish, she will be buried in Nelson, BC at a later date. Donations in her memory can be made to the SPCA.
Kim is survived by her son David Kangas, Miriam (Eric) Ramsden, stepdaughter Kerry (Jim) Young, granddaughters Cadhla Firth and Holly Ferguson, sisters Else Nance & Karen Muntak, many nieces and nephews, longtime girlfriends of 60+ years, Mary Watson and Sally Torscher.
