Too soon gone...
It is with great sadness that we share that Jeanie passed suddenly on Saturday, August 12, 2023, from cardiac arrest. All her family and close friends were with her to say goodbye.
Jeanie was such a happy, tenacious, rambunctious, and kind-hearted soul. She played hard, and whatever she undertook, she always gave it her all.
She would spend countless hours following her sisters wherever they went and annoying them as much as possible. She earned the nickname Root (as in root weevil) because she was always getting into everything she could.
She played all sports. She was a member of the first all-female minor hockey team in 100 Mile House. She was on her school's girl's rugby team and loved it. "Quit" was not part of Jeanie's vocabulary.
She loved everyone and would do whatever she could to help a friend, be it helping a friend move or just giving a hug.
Jeanie, no matter what was going on, was always quick with a comment or a chuckle and laugh, to change the mood from sadness to joy.
Jeanie was a challenge to her teachers, always questioning and keeping them on their toes. She always had good grades and won a couple of scholarships upon graduation, which she used to go to college to study to be a teacher herself. Life got in the way, and she didn't quite get there.
Jeanie struggled the last few years with various health issues, but she always kept going forward.
Jeanie was born in 100 Mile House and was delivered by her parents, Ann and Bill Munro. Her dad was the first to hold her and, sadly, the last.
Jeanie loved music and had been known to dance on the odd bar table at times. When out with her friends, if there was going to be trouble, Jeanie was the first to defend a friend and get to the front of the battle. Her strong Scottish heritage probably had a lot to do with that.
She lived at the 108 Mile Ranch from the time she was born until she graduated. She went to college in Abbotsford and lived in Prince George, Kamloops, Clearwater, and then again in Prince George. She made many friends everywhere she went.
At the time of her death, she was in a good relationship with Rob Nolin and was happy taking care of his children, Xandra, Angel, and Tazannah. She had the family she had always wanted, and they will miss her dearly.
Jeanie will be so greatly missed by her parents Ann (Gonzo) and Bill (Nicola), her loving sisters Ambre (Jeff) and Sara, her brother Danny (Miriah), her nephew Tommy, her stepmother Kathy (Dave), her auntie Jean and her uncle Rob (Janis), her auntie Ursula, Uncle Bill, her cousins Nathan (Candice), Oliver, Heather (Ray), Tanya (Greg), and Mike (Pam), and her many dear friends.
Jeanie, try to behave yourself until team Munro can get together again, and if you can't behave, then put in a good word for the rest of us.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 p.m. on September 30 at the Eatery, 108 Mile Ranch. You can remember Jeanie by donating to the BC SPCA.
