January 12, 1951 - January 12, 2019
Iris Audrey Henderson passed away suddenly and peacefully sitting in her favorite chair on the morning of January 12, 2019, her 68th Birthday.

Iris was born in Vancouver, B.C. on January 12, 1951. She grew up in Surrey, Burnaby and Vancouver. She was the eldest of Martin and Ellen Letang's 5 daughters. She met the love of her life, Dan, while camping with her family at Lac La Hache campground in 1968. They wed on November 14, 1970 and lived all over B.C. from up the Alaskan Highway to Vancouver and Squamish but the Cariboo has always held their hearts.

Iris was a brilliant child, she could talk and recite nursery rhymes at a very young age. She graduated top of her class at Sir Charles Tupper Secondary School. She was the youngest Supervisor at CN Telecommunications in Vancouver. Iris was a Navy League Wrenette, earning the rank of Petty Officer and making many lifelong friends. Iris's passions were her family, her faith and her friends. She especially loved her role as Nana. One of her recent accomplishments was helping out during the forest fires in 2017. Iris and Dan spent each day at the LLH community hall, helping all in need. She had a generous heart and was respected and loved by all.

Iris was preceded in death by her biological father, Ernie Moyls in 1952, her father Martin Letang in 2000, her sister Sally Letang in 2007 and her beloved husband Dan Henderson on September 1, 2018. She will forever be in the hearts of her children, Jason Henderson and Hope Henderson (Friedhelm), her grandchildren, Daniel, Sierra, Felicia, Alex, Sheldon, Nathan, James and Elizabeth, great grandchildren Ashley, Mark, Molly, Brooke and Dean, her Mother Ellen Letang, sisters Myrl (Jim) Bordian, Kathie (Alvin) Hemmingson and Alice Letang as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express gratitude to Angela Henderson, Dennis the Menace, Pastor Dennis and everyone else who was there for Iris during Dan's hospital stay and since his passing. Your generosity will always be remembered.
