John went home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Feb. 5 at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.
John brought his family to the Cariboo in 1967. They settled in Lac La Hache, where John and his wife eventually opened a gunsmith business.
John was predeceased by his son Harlan in 2006. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Arly, who was the love of his life second only to his relationship with Jesus Christ.
He also leaves behind his sister Barbara Middlestead of Winnipeg, daughter Catherine Springett of Vancouver, son Jeff Springett (PJ) of Whitehorse, daughter Ann Granger (Rod) of 100 Mile, 7 grandchildren: Amber (Jason), Joe (Chelsea), Jennifer (Matt), Jeremy (Coreen), Leah (Dave), Ashley and Kelli, and 8 great-grandchildren. Special thanks to Dr. Lubbe, Dr. Street and the home support staff. A memorial service was held on Feb. 17.
