1938-2011

After a long struggle with COPD, Effie passed away peacefully at 100 Mile Hospital on August 8, 2011.

Effie was born in Cranbrook, B.C. on September 1, 1938. She was the fourth child of Ferd and Myrtle Rauch.

Effie lived in Wilmer, B.C. for the first 34 years of her life. She married Bill Perron on May 18th, 1957 and four children followed their union: Bryan, Jeanne, Beverley and Stewart. In 1972, Effie, Bill and their family moved to a farm in Forest Grove, B.C.

Effie was predeceased by her father, mother, husband, brothers: Alvin and Fred, and sister Dorothy. Effie is survived by her children: Bryan (Ellie) Perron, Jeanne (Todd) Best, Beverley (Garvin) Playfair and Stewart Perron; ten grandchildren: Amber, Courtney, Kevin, Kimberley (Tanner), Curtis, Michael, Cameron, Kelsey (Brad), Bradley and Kyle; great grandchildren: Max and Grahame, brothers: Edward (Joyce), John (Marion), Clarence (Josie) and George (Iris); sister June (Bernie) and many nieces and nephews.

Raising her children, farming and working on their small portable sawmill kept Effie busy.

Effie loved giving back to her community. She enjoyed spending time at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church, teaching Sunday school and the youth group, Lay Ministry and was a very active member of the ACW. Effie enjoyed playing Aggravation, Crib and Canasta with their large group of friends. Pot luck dinners and group sing-a-longs filled many of her weekends.

Effie was a very loving person who gave freely of her time and assets. Everyone who knew her loved her.

Effie - wife, mom, grandma, sister, aunt and friend; we will miss your smile, love, patience, and kindness. We will hold our special memories of you in our hearts forever. You have taught us so much and we will miss your wisdom and love. We will meet again, but until then, we love you.

Funeral services will be held at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church in 100 Mile House, BC at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2011.
