September 2, 1952 - October 24, 2018
David Norman Wickingstad passed away suddenly on October 24, 2018 at the age of 66. Thankfully he wasn't alone but surrounded with the love of his family. David was born in Lake Wales, Florida and immigrated to Canada in 1972. He loved Canada and knew more about its history and politics than most. He held a variety of jobs; ranch hand, mining in the NWT, commercial fishing, and a News Broadcaster for TV and Radio on CFJC. Returning to the Cariboo he worked in the lumber industry for many years, some of that time as a millwright. David was a natural storyteller, incredibly funny, and

brought laughter to every family function. His love for family was deep and enduring. David loved travelling, and together with his sweetheart Cindy, had many adventures off the beaten track and was a regular at the Roots & Blues Music Festival.

Predeceased by mother, Gala; father, Donald; beloved brother Steve; father-in-law Bert Kelm.

Survived by his wife of 37 years, Cindy; daughter, Emily (Todd); and son, McLean (Shylo). Granddaughters India and Penelope. Brothers Paul (Gloria), Mark, James, cousins, nieces and nephews. Mother-in-law Doris (Gord) MacDougall.

His love and memory will be cherished always.

A Celebration of David's Life will be held at the 108 Community Centre, November 10, 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Fund.
