May 18, 1945 - November 9, 2018
It is with a sad heavy heart, that I announce the passing of my Spouse and Partner, Barbara Bea Thurston. She fought a brave battle with cancer; but, passed away in the 100 Mile & District General Hospital on the 9 November 2018. Barb was predeceased by her parents, Beatrice and Bruce McTavish of Clinton, BC. She is survived by her husband/partner of 48 years, RON, her pet dog DUKE and her cousin Roy (Maris) Williams of Burnaby, BC.
Barb was raised in Clinton and North Vancouver and Graduated with a Commerce Degree from UBC. She worked with the Provincial Public Service Commission for 35 years. Upon retirement she moved to Green Lake, into a home she designed, on a spot owned by her parents since 1954. You could often hear her say "The Lake is Paradise" and a smile would appear on her face. There will not be a Celebration of Her Life at her request; however, there will be a Spring "TEA" for friends, to be held at a later date, hosted by the Watch Lake/North Green Lake VFD Auxiliary.
In lieu of flowers a donation might be made to the 100 Mile House SPCA or the Watch Lake/North Green Lake Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary or a Charity of your choice.
