Ardis was born in Advocate Harbour NS, she & Arthur were married November 1951 & so their life adventures began. They were sort of nomads, moving wherever the work took them, living & working all over Nova Scotia, New Brunswick even a stint in Massachusetts before settling in BC in 1967.
Once again there were many moves within the province, with them finally settling in the 100 Mile House area.
Ardis enjoyed a full career with her claim to fame, as well as being a wonderful wife & mother & grandmother, of being a fabulous cook. She cooked in many logging & lumber camps, moving on to owning several cafeĢs in the Cariboo.
She was an extremely hard worker, always on the go, she loved being with people & made many friends throughout her life.
Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Home & Community Care, Fischer Place & 100 Mile Hospital. We want to express our appreciation to Renee Dover, Nina Ingram & Kate Todd for helping provide such good care of her this past year & of course a thank you to her Doctor Koen Geertz.
