Albert died a peaceful death April 19, 2016.
He is survived by his four children; Christine (Daniel), Christian (Suzanne), Philippe (Marnie) and Pierre (Louise) as well as his many grandchildren; his younger brothers Jacques (Mireille) and André (Andrée) and their families. He is also survived by his best friend, Liliane.
He was born September 20, 1935 in Marcinelle, Belgium. It is evident that Albert loved an adventure, when he decided to immigrate to Canada in 1967 with his wife Suzanne (deceased 2007) and four children.
They settled in Prince George, then moved to Coquitlam a few years later, finally retiring in the Cariboo in 1988.
Albert will fondly be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather (Bonpapa) who will be truly missed by all every day. He lived life with a joie de vivre. He could often be found in his garden, on the lake fishing or the dance floor.
The family would like to thank the kind and caring nursing staff at Cariboo Memorial Hospital and 100 Mile House Hospital.
There will be a Mass at St. Jude’s Roman Catholic Church in 100 Mile House at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016 followed by a Celebration of Life in the church basement.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Loaves and Fishes Outreach or the Canadian Red Cross.
