Impaired driving

On Nov. 27, 100 Mile RCMP and 100 Mile Traffic Services responded to a single-vehicle incident on Dogwood Avenue in 100 Mile House.

The driver of a Mercury Sable left the roadway and hit a tree, causing severe damage to the passenger side of the vehicle. Three female passengers were taken to 100 Mile District General Hospital by ambulance.

One of the three passengers suffered severe injuries and was transported to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops. A witness at the scene of the collision identified the driver of the vehicle.

The driver showed symptoms of being impaired by alcohol, and after being attended by a physician, was investigated for impaired driving. Three counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm are being recommended to Crown against an 18-year-old male resident of 100 Mile House.

The investigation into this collision is continuing.

 

In the ditch

On Nov. 27, 100 Mile RCMP responded to a single-vehicle incident on Horse Lake Road near Blackstock Road.

The driver of a Chrysler sedan lost control of the vehicle while travelling east on Horse Lake Road. The vehicle began to slide when entering a corner.

The driver attempted to correct, however, the vehicle continued to slide into the ditch. The vehicle impacted a hydro pole.

The driver, who suffered minor injuries, was taken to hospital by ambulance. The other four occupants of the vehicle were not injured.

Deteriorating weather conditions were believed to be a factor in this collision.

 

Bad crossing

On Nov. 22, 100 Mile RCMP responded to a collision on Highway 97 at Airport Road between a truck and a concrete mixer truck.

Investigation determined that the driver of the truck left the intersection at Airport Road and turned north onto Highway 97. In doing so, the driver crossed four lanes of traffic before hitting the concrete truck.

The driver of the truck was taken by ambulance to the 100 Mile District General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into this matter is continuing.
