The 100 Mile RCMP responded to 81 complaints and calls for service during the past week.
Officer assaulted
On Sept. 18, 100 Mile RCMP responded to an alarm call at a business on Alder Avenue, and upon arrival, police discovered the glass on the front door had been smashed and the door was unlocked.
Liquor had been taken from the business. A short time later, another complaint was received that a male was attempting to steal a vehicle nearby.
When police responded, the suspect was located lying in the parking lot. He was arrested for mischief and held in custody.
During the subsequent investigation, police determined this suspect was responsible for the business break-and-enter. Charges of break-and-enter; mischief and assaulting a police officer are being recommended to Crown against a 34-year-old Mission man.
The investigation is continuing.
Impaired driving
On Sept. 16, 100 Mile Traffic Services received a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Highway 97 near 83 Mile.
The vehicle was located travelling north towards 100 Mile House and was pulled over. The male driver displayed symptoms of impairment.
An approved screening device was administered at the roadside. The result was a fail.
The driver was detained and returned to the 100 Mile House RCMP Detachment were two breath tests were administered. The results were 280 and 270 mg per cent.
Charges of impaired driving and driving over the legal limit have been recommended to Crown against a 35-year-old Abbotsford resident.
B&E and theft
On Sept. 12, 100 Mile RCMP received a complaint that a shop had been broken into on Kinncum Road in the 108 Mile Ranch.
Two small electronic items were stolen. No damage was done to the structure.

Dog poisoned
On Sept. 9, 100 Mile RCMP were called to investigate a suspicious substance at the 108 Mile beach.
A local resident had been walking her dog near the beach area when it ate what appeared to be a raw, meat-like substance.
Later that morning, the dog became ill and was taken to the veterinarian. The dog died from consuming the substance, which the veterinarian described as a poison.
Concerned residents searched the area and the remaining substances were removed. There have been no further reported incidents since Sept. 9.

Excessive speed
There were two vehicles stopped for excessive speed during the past week and both were being operated by drivers from outside the 100 Mile House area.
Both vehicles were being operated at 55 km/h over the posted speed limit. The drivers were charged for excessive speed and the vehicles were impounded for seven days.
Lost a bike?
On July 4, a youth-sized mountain bike was located in the soccer fields in 100 Mile House, but has not been reported lost or stolen.
If you are missing a bike, you can attend the 100 Mile House RCMP Detachment and claim your property by providing a proper description of it (make model and serial number) to the staff at the office.
The bike will be retained until Oct. 31.
