Rollover MVI

On Dec. 7, 100 Mile House RCMP was called to a motor vehicle incident (MVI) rollover on Highway 24 near Watch Lake Road.

A lone female occupant was reported trapped inside the vehicle.

Emergency Health Services removed the driver from the vehicle and transported her to 100 Mile District General Hospital with what were believed to be minor injuries.

Icy road conditions were a factor in the MVI.

A number of MVIs were reported this week that were as a result of icy conditions. With the frequent changes in temperatures, drivers are reminded to pay attention to the ever changing road conditions and adjust their driving accordingly.

Vehicle break-ins

On Dec. 7, RCMP received a report of a break-and-enter to a business in the Exeter Road Industrial Park.

A number of vehicles on the site were entered and various items taken. The incident is believed to have occurred sometime overnight.

RV break-in

On Dec. 5, police received a report of attempted theft from an RV trailer on the 7000 block of Simon Lake Road.

Nothing was believed to be taken; however, the RV was entered. The incident is believed to have occurred within the last two months.

CounterAttack underway

On Dec. 4, 100 Mile House RCMP conducted several check stops in the area of 108 Mile Ranch, Horse Lake Road and Canim-Hendrix Lake Road.

As a result of these roadside checks, two drivers were give 90-day Immediate Roadside Driving

Prohibitions and 30-day vehicle impounds as a result of alcohol consumption and failing roadside breath tests.

A number of other drivers were issued violation tickets and notices for Motor Vehicle Act (MVA) violations. Expect to see more police roadside checks throughout the holiday season.

Unlicensed driving

On Dec. 2, Cariboo Traffic Services members were conducting patrols of the Industrial Park on Exeter Road and stopped a vehicle as the registered owner details showed no valid driver's licence.

The female driver was found to be on several probation conditions from a property crime offence. She was in breach of two conditions, which related to not possessing any tools used as break-in instruments, as well as not occupying the driver's seat of a vehicle unless the owner was present.

She was arrested and later released, but must make an appearance in court at a later date.

The female was also charged with several MVA violation tickets.

In the ditch

On Dec. 1, RCMP were called to a semi truck that had left the roadway on Highway 97 on the 103 Mile hill.

The truck had gone off the road to the right and into the ditch, which resulted in the loss of the load.

There were no injuries and the incident is still under investigation.

Speeder arrested for pot

On Dec. 1, Cariboo Chilcotin Traffic Services stopped a vehicle for speeding on Alpine Avenue in 100 Mile House.

While speaking with the female driver, an odor of marijuana was detected from the vehicle. She was arrested and the vehicle searched.

A substantial amount of marijuana oil was located inside the vehicle and another amount of dried marijuana was also located.

The female was later released at the scene and charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking will be sought.
