BC Food Systems Network gather in 100 mile house

The annual BC Food Systems Network (BCFSN) gathering will be at the Valley Room behind The Lodge in 100 Mile House, July 7-10.

A wine-and-cheese reception, which is open to the public, will be held on July 8 at Martin Exeter Hall from 7 to 10 p.m. There will be a panel of speakers discussing not only agriculture and food, but also talking about food sources nature provides, including hunting.

The weekend's topic "Diversity and Resilience," discusses the diversity of each community, the resilience of the broad variety of plants, and flora and fauna. Further discussions will be focused on the needs of farmers, ranchers and the environment.

BCFSN emphasizes the way in which food issues cross cultures, sectors and age groups.

Tickets for the wine-and-cheese reception are $25 and will be available at the door.
