Cyclist hit, injured by vehicle

Driver involved in a collision with a cyclist facing charges.

100 Mile House RCMP have released some details about Tuesday's collision during which a cyclist was hit by a vehicle.

The male cyclist was struck by the westbound vehicle on Horse Lake Road between Finn and Gibson roads around 10:30 a.m. on July 10.

Police, BC Ambulance Service and 100 Mile House Fire-Rescue responded to the scene.

The cyclist was transported by ambulance to 100 Mile District General Hospital. The extent of his injuries is unknown.

Horse Lake Road was closed for three hours while police examined the scene for evidence, and the investigation is continuing.

The RCMP recommending the driver of the vehicle face criminal charges of impaired driving causing injuries and driving a motor vehicle while having a blood alcohol reading over .08 mg.
