BC Wildfire Service will be conducting controlled burnes in the Ranchettes for the next three weeks.
The burns are part of “an ongoing fuel mitigation project,” according to fire information officer Jessica Mack.
Mack said the project was initiated to reduce the risk of wildfire risk in that area.
“They’re removing the fuel that has built up over the years.”
Residents of 100 Mile House and surrounding communities should be aware that smoke may be visible while piles are being burned.
Firefighting crews are on site monitoring the burns.
