Cariboo Regional District (CRD) Area H Director Margo Wagner was elected as chair of the Cariboo Chilcotin Regional Hospital Board (CCRHD) at the Jan. 13 board meeting.
Having served as vice-chair for the past four years, Wagner says it is her honour to move up to the position of chair.
"My goal is to continue with the good working relationship we have established with the Interior and Northern health authorities."
The recent announcement by the provincial government that they will be opening up the remaining longterm care beds at Fischer Place/Mill Site Lodge was welcomed by the CCRHD board, she adds.
"Every meeting we have had with Interior Health has always included a discussion regarding this unused space, so it is nice to see this come to fruition."
