BC Hydro reporting approximately 3,300 customers without power in 100 Mile House

Seven separate areas have been without power since this morning.

BC Hydro is reporting seven areas in 100 Mile House without power as of this morning, affecting approximately 3,300 customers.

Approximately 1,300 customers in the area were without power Monday morning as well, before workers were able to restore power later in the afternoon.

The details of this morning’s outages are as follows:

  • A large area encompassing part of Lone Butte through Lac Des Roches, including Deka Lake to south of Eagan Lake, has been without power since 5:53 a.m. 2294 customers are affected in this area alone. Crews are estimated to arrive on site at 10:15 a.m. and the cause is still under investigation.

  • An area east of Ainsworth Road and north of Netherland road has been without power since 7:57 a.m., affecting 878 customers. Crews have been assigned to this area and the cause is still under investigation.

  • An area east of Valleyview Drive and north of Hunt road has been without power since 5 a.m. because of trees downed on wires. 168 customers are affected and crews are currently on site.

  • The 5500 block of Upper Houseman Road has been without power since 8:11 a.m. because of trees downed on wires. Fewer than five customers are affected and crews have been assigned to the site.

  • The 6300 block of Kaluza Road has been without power since 8:14 a.m., affecting fewer than five customers. Crews have been assigned to the area and the cause is still being investigated.

  • The 7300 block of South Canim Lake Road has been without power since 8:55 a.m., affecting fewer than five customers. The cause is still under investigation and crews have yet to be assigned to this area.

  • The 4400 block of Wright Station Road has been without power since 9 a.m., affecting fewer than five customers. The cause is still under investigation and crews have yet to be assigned to this area.
