Parkside Art Gallery is a mecca for local art lovers who want to see what our area's talented artists and artisans can produce.

100 Mile House and area boasts a large community of artists, and local works can always be seen at Parkside Art Gallery.

The bright blue building at 401 Cedar Ave., just two blocks east of the main highway, is a haven for art lovers and artists who are greeted with a welcoming atmosphere and friendly volunteers who run the gallery.

Shows change approximately every six weeks, and with no end to the talent to draw from, it's a wondrous forum for diversity and fruits of the imagination.

A rustic barn board finish on the walls of the main gallery provides a natural background for local art, which more often than not, tends to depict some sort of outdoor Cariboo theme.

Young people in the community have their own space to display their works in the student gallery. The show changes monthly, allowing local schools to take turns hanging their students' artwork for all to enjoy and be inspired by.

Artisans have the Parkside Gift Shop to show off the fruits of their talents. A wide array of quality pieces, including hand-crafted jewelry, woodwork, pottery, scarves and so much more ensure that even the person who has everything can find something unique.

Visit Parkside Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.

Admission by donation is appreciated, but nobody will be turned away.
