Students at Peter Skene Ogden Secondary School received the “real theatre experience” and put on a great stage production of the Charles Dickens novel, Nicholas Nickleby, at Martin Exeter Hall in 100 Mile House on Jan. 14-16.

“We had a great run,” says director Monique Corno. “The [four shows] were really strong and the production was a success.”

The two dozen drama students involved put in a lot of work since October preparing the production and rehearsing after school.

“Unless you're involved with each step along the way it's really hard to fathom how much work is involved in every aspect,” Corno says.

The biggest challenge for the group was that many of them have not performed, or even been to Martin Exeter Hall before.

“Once they moved to the hall, there was still a lot of work to do. The kids put in countless hours.”

Corno gave a huge thank you to members of the 100 Mile House Performing Arts Society and a thank you to all the local businesses and supporters of the arts who donated time and services to the show.

“We really couldn't have done it without them.”
