Cupid is coming to the Interlakes Community Centre on Feb. 10.

“What we’re doing is just like a family dinner and dance with music by local band, Class Mates. The hall will be decorated all Valentines but we’re trying to do it for the family,” said Jil Freeman, one of the organizers.

This is the first year the Community Hall has held this event and is being held in correlation with the long weekend and the Outhouse Races on Feb. 11.

Lasagna will be served at 6 p.m. as the main course. Garlic bread, salad and desserts will also be served. Music will be played up until 10 p.m. There will also be a bar selling drinks for $5.

The Class Mates are a three-piece band consisting of Gail Potter, Brad Potter and Sandy Amy.

“We can play for any occasion. We’re super versatile and we play anything from the 1930s, 40s, 50s, graffiti music, pop rock, jazz, rock and roll, everything,” said Gail, the leader of the game. “We do everything live. We’re only a three-piece and we sound bigger.”

Some of the songs they will be playing at the show are Whitney Houston’s I Will Always Love You, You Can’t Hurry Love by Phil Collins and songs by Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Shania Twain and others.

“We wanted to play in Interlakes for so many years. We’re really excited to play up there,” said Gail.

Tickets can be bought at The Country Peddler and the Interlakes Rona. They are $10 and kids 12 and under get in for free.
