Parkside Art Gallery will open its doors to the Central Interior Regional Arts Council (CIRAC) show on April 15, with a reception for the general public from 7 to 9 p.m.

The juried show will feature more than 40 pieces of artwork from emerging artists who come from all over the Central Interior.

Parkside president Patsy Granberg says the response to the call for artists was good and everything seems to be falling into place nicely for the show.

"We have a good number of local artists, which was our goal. All of the pieces are of very high quality."

The opening reception will feature refreshments and snacks as well as entertainment with local guitarist Isaac Hensey, and there is no admission charge.

There are still a few spaces available for the luncheon and the April 16 presentation by portrait artist Judy Copeland and photographer Chris Harris.

Copeland will present "How to Make your Art your Own and Own it" from 1 to 1:30 p.m.

Harris will take the floor from 1:30 to 2 p.m. with his talk, "Creative Composition, the Building Blocks to Visual Design." The cost for the package is $47.25, and those who are interested can inquire at Parkside.

Copeland will also offer a portrait workshop on April 17 at a cost of $30.

This will be the first time that Parkside has had the opportunity to host the CIRAC show and making it more special is the fact it happens during their 10th anniversary year.
