108 Cabin Fever Bluegrass Workshops

Popular bluegrass workshops back at The Hills Health Ranch

People in the South Cariboo and beyond can see spring is around the corner when the bluegrass musicians gather at The Hills Health Ranch.

The Ninth Annual 108 Cabin Fever Bluegrass Workshops take place March 28-April 1 at The Hills Health Ranch.

Organizer Rosetta Paxton says any musicians interested in registering should sign up soon, as once again she is getting calls from interested folks from across North America.

This year, seminar leaders include band members from the Foggy Hogtown Boys, 5 On a String and Bluegrass Etc., as well as other musicians, Jason and Pharis Romano, Trent Freeman, Bob Underhill and Ivan Rosenberg.

"We are so fortunate at our camp to have such professional seminar leaders from all over, and who are so well recognized in the industry."

The Friday night instructor's concert is open to the public and there is a $15 admission fee. It is always a packed house, so if you would like tickets be sure to pick them up early at The Hills Health Ranch, Paxton says.

Bluegrass music instruction is offered for those who can play instruments, such as rhythm and flat-pick guitar, dobro, banjo and mandolin, as well as for the all-important element of vocals, she adds.

Once again luthier David Sohn will lead a workshop on mandolin making and there are special workshops this year for setting sound, the Nashville Number System and instrument care and maintenance.
