The Youth Zone (YZ) is a happening place for the teenagers from 100 Mile House and area.
It's a fun, safe and exciting place to be with your friends, or to just hang out.
"We've experienced quite an increase in attendance over 2011," says YZ program manager Chris Pettman. "We have changed the age group requirements from 12 to 18 years old, instead of 19."
Pettman adds that the change in ages won't make too much of a difference.
YZ is open Monday through Friday from noon to 1 p.m., and Monday through Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m.
On Fridays, the youth facility is open from noon to 1 p.m. and from 3 to 8 p.m.
YZ prepares a free dinner around 5:30 p.m. every Friday, and the youths are invited to help, says Pettman.
It is also open on Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m.
"This is a great place for the youth to hang out. We try to do different activities.
"Right now, just after the holidays, it’s more of a chill period."
The Youth Zone is a non-profit organization, and Pettman says they are always grateful for donations of food or money.
