Watch Lake Dart Club winds up its season

The Watch Lake Dart Club held a windup party recently during which the top shooters were recognized for their achievements during the season.

On May 12, the Watch Lake Dart League held its windup party at the Watch Lake Community Hall.

First place went to Ed Andrews, who also received the Men's High Score with 16, Men's Most Scores 85-plus with 110 and Top Man award.

Second place went to Anna-Marie Sward who also took Ladies High Score with 135; Ladies Most Scores 85-plus with 44; Top Lady and shared Top Couple with Rolly Rupertus.

Third place went to Brian Thatcher and fourth place to Rolly. Rick Lunsted took Men's High Finish with 112, and Lou Stevens took Ladies' High Finish with 97.

Anna-Marie won the Steve Dubrovay Memorial Trophy for the most Sportsmanlike Player.

They all had a lot of fun this season and welcome everyone back next year starting in November.

All the players thank Bernice Williams of Outback Spa and Leisure for the donation towards a badly needed dartboard.

 

Fishing derby

The Watch Lake/Green Lake 24th Annual Fishing Derby will be held June 4-5, and is hosted by the Watch Lake Lodge.

Folks can fish either Watch or Green lakes, and take in the pancake breakfast to start out each day. The concession will be available from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

A pig roast dinner with all the trimmings is slated for Saturday at 6 p.m., and the refreshment garden is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

There will be a cash prize for the biggest and second biggest fish overall. There will be many prizes in lots of categories.

Folks must be at the award ceremonies on Sunday afternoon to claim their prizes. Tickets will be available soon.

Tickets available

The Watch Lake-North Green Lake VFD (WLNGLVFD) Auxiliary's Third Annual Dinner and Auction will be held on June 11 at the 70 Mile Community Hall.

Doors open at 4:30 p.m., with dinner at 5:30 and the auction at 7. Come out and support the fire department. Invite your friends for an evening of excellent food and a great time.

The meal will be served by B.J.'s Catering, and auctioneer Donna Nivison will keep the bidding going with fun and merriment.

Tickets are $20 and are now available. The tickets were sold out early last year, so don't wait too long. Call the writer to reserve your seats or for more information.
