100 Mile and District Hospice Palliative Care Society will continue their annual tradition of lighting up the tree outside of the 100 Mile House Fire Rescue hall, with a ceremony happening on Dec. 7.
“Every year we put on a memory ceremony where people who have lost a loved one can remember them,” said Lauren Bock, the society’s board president, about the 28th Annual Memory Tree Celebration.
The official ceremony will take place at the cafeteria in the Fischer Place section of the 100 Mile House and District General Hospital, where people will sing, and share poetry.
Afterwards, the people participating in the ceremony will go outside and watch as the tree is lit.
Dave Rutledge from Garth’s Electric donated his time and the truck to put the lights up. The local Home Hardware also helped out the Hospice by helping with purchasing the lights.
The Memory Celebration will happen on Dec. 7 at 6 p.m.
