Students kept busy this month

The new year brings new subjects to explore for the students at Eliza Archie Memorial School (EAMS).

The new year brings new subjects to explore for the students at Eliza Archie Memorial School (EAMS).

They have a new theme called Winter Wonderland. They looked at what winter is, what it looks like, what it sounds like, what it feels like, and what it tastes like.

To help with their studies of winter, the students, much to their surprise, donned their winter clothes and went outdoors.

Everyone, including Mrs. Mac, (aka principal Barbara MacLeod) got to go riding on a makeshift cardboard toboggan on the big hill in the school playground.

Another New Year’s thing was the students got to write out their resolutions for 2011. These resolutions, posted on the bulletin board, identify such things as reading improvement, learning Shuswap, doing better in math, doing better in science, improving grades as being important to the EAMS children.

Lunch hour indoor activities include Tish Diamond coming in to do some exercise workouts.

This activity, plus Wii gives the students a lot to do if they would rather not go outdoors.
