Start of another great year

Lone Butte 4-H club starting 2012 season and looking for new members

On Jan. 15, the Lone Butte 4-H Club had its first meeting of the year.

This year, we have seven members in our club, two seniors, three juniors and two cloverbuds. The executive includes president Jesse Maltesen, vice-president Mikayla Mosher, treasurer Hannah Meier, secretary Julia Mosher, club reporter M. Mosher and safety officer Karli-Rae Ross.

We also had our elections for the club leaders. Tamara Giles is A and swine leader; Amanda Mosher is B, rabbit, gardening and sheep leader; and Heidi Meier is B and cloverbuds leader.

We are going to have a bake sale on at Save-On-Foods on Feb. 11, with a lot of homemade baked goods.

The club speeches will be held on Feb. 26. Members can either say a speech that they have written themselves or they can create a demonstration with a partner on whatever topic they would like.

Senior members also have to do a one-minute impromptu speech. This is when they are given an unknown topic and have one minute to write a one- to three-minute speech and then present it.

If you have any questions or would like to join our club as a new member, please contact Tamara Giles at 250-706-0012 or Amanda Mosher at 250-791-9271.
