Valerie Streber hosted her Second Annual Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 3.

By all appearances, it was a resounding success.

The Valley Room was nearly full as parents, caregivers and children steadily moved in and out for the entire morning.

The event provided a free breakfast of sausages and pancakes. Children also got a chance to sit on Santa's lap and have their pictures taken while telling him what they want for Christmas.

The idea of hosting a Breakfast with Santa in 100 Mile House is due almost exclusively to Streber's efforts.

108 Mile has one every year that is successful, so I decided to host one for 100 Mile,” Streber says.

The raffle was composed of two gifts: a large shiny Christmas train; and an equally large Talking Elmo. Tickets were 50 cents, and the money will go towards next year's Breakfast with Santa, Streber explains.

This year, there were about 20 volunteers and I would like to thank them all for their hard work and dedication.”

The event was sponsored by the 100 Mile Lions Club, Save-On-Foods, Canlan Ice Sports and the 100 Mile House Free Press, which not only sponsored the event, but also provided volunteers.
