Santa Claus lands in 100 Mile House for breakfast

Jolly St. Nick is touring 100 Mile House Saturday ahead of the Santa Claus Parade

Dozens of children greeted Santa Claus as he landed in 100 Mile House Saturday morning.

Santa and Mrs. Claus took a special express flight down to the South Cariboo to take part in the inaugural Santa Saturday. As he disembarked Santa gave a jolly “Ho Ho!” and waved at those gathered to meet him. Handing out candy from his bag Santa remarked that 100 Mile House was nice and warm compared to the -45C weather he has been dealing with at the North Pole.

After posing for a few photos the Clauses boarded one of 100 Mile Fire Rescue’s fire trucks and drove to the Red Rock Grill for a breakfast was Santa. Well over a dozen children and their families followed for a tasty meal of waffles and bacon prepared by the Red Rock staff.

Santa was in rare form posing for photographs, learning what each child wanted for Christmas and cracking jokes. He encouraged everyone at the breakfast to come to the Santa Claus Parade taking place down Birch Avenue at 4 p.m.
